Arlyn “Arlie” D. Schwantes, 85
Beloved husband, father, papa, and brother entered eternal life on November 2nd, 2026.
Born on October 21st, 1941, to Emil and Leota Schwantes, Arlie attended school in Spencer, WI. Arlie then worked at Land O Lakes where he dedicated over 40 years until his retirement in 2003.
Arlie was a devoted and faithful Christian. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council as president, taught Sunday School, and was involved in the youth group.
On December 20th, 1969, he married the love of his life, Theresa (Martin) Schwantes. During their marriage they were blessed with two children, Marty Schwantes and Heidi (Kevin) Walker and 5 grandchildren, Kolten & Kylie Walker (Jordy Rojas), and LilliAnn, Annaliese, & Oakley Schwantes.
Arlie loved Fords and racing. He raced his #47 stockcar at the local dirt track circuit with his brother Denny and good friend Donnie in the 60’s. He also enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR, the Badgers, and the Packers. But his greatest love was watching his grandkids grow into the amazing young adults they are today. From working with his buckshot on the ’53 F100, encouraging and supporting his “Honey” with her academics, and watching all sports they got into such as hockey, micro sprints and ice racing, dance recitals, and football, he loved everything his grandkids did, no matter what it was. If it made them happy, he was happy.
Arlie is survived by his wife Theresa, his children Marty and Heidi (Kevin), his grandkids Kolten, Kylie (Jordy), LilliAnn, Annaliese, and Oakley, and his brother Robert (Betty).
Arlie is preceded in death by his parents Emil and Leota, and his siblings Vila, Elaine, Carolyn, Gerald, Roger, and Dennis.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank his care team from Urology, the SICU, and Palliative Care for their compassion and support.
