Dean worked multiple jobs where he could use his hands before going into self employed carpentry. He was a member of the Stratford Fire Department, working his way up to Lieutenant. He was also a member of the Fenwood Lions and Mid Wisconsin ATV Club where he held multiple positions, including president. He had to gradually step away from these volunteer positions due to the worsening of his illness.
Dean liked to help people, even if that meant his multitude of projects were left waiting. He was always ready to start a new project, even when the last one was still waiting. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoying many trips to Canada as well as multiple hunting excursions. He loved spending time at his cabin up north, but his biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy, son, Quinn Manecke of Fenwood, daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Nathan Myszka of Edgar, and grandchildren, Easton, Harper, and Emmitt Myszka.
He is further survived by his mother, Delores Polege, siblings, Brian (Sue) Manecke of Edgar, Cheryl Punke (Jeff Paluch) of Rib Mountain, and Keith Manecke of Wausau, as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Manecke, and father and mother-in-law, Ervin and Darleen Mueller.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and doctors at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for putting in the effort to give him so many extra years after his first diagnosis.
