On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at approximately 8:10 a.m., the Marshfield Police Department responded to a report of a man attempting to gain access to a daycare facility in the 800 block of N. Peach Avenue.
Officers contacted the 47–year–old Marshfield man and determined he was experiencing a mental health crisis. He was taken into protective custody and transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Officers also worked with crisis intervention specialists to assist him.
The man has no connection to the daycare facility. The facility’s safety protocols worked as intended, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
