Kyle: “So, in the last month, we’ve started on our redesign of our wolf habitat. We have big and very bright future plan for for wolves at Wildwood.”
“Right now, the elk and the elk bulls have just about to lose their velvet, so they’re coming into their their racks for the rut. They’re they’re looking really good.”
“We’re just about to announce a couple new animals down here at the zoo. That should be really interesting, as some of them are spending a little bit time out today, but they will be out permanently in the coming weeks, and yeah, we have some new some new residents completely coming in the near future too.”
“So, we’re slotted to have a very exciting fall and we have begun planning our Halloween event that’ll happen October 9 and 10th.”
“But just our normal trick or treating event that we have educational tables out for the kids, so they can go and run around and have fun trick or treating and and learn something at the same time. A lot of really new exciting things, and we’ve done some remodeling on the interior zoo.”
“The seating pods look like they’re 20 years younger, and we’re starting to toy with maybe some more art projects, community-led art projects, and events for next year that we can really make each seating pod their own, their own thing. Very exciting stuff down here at the zoo.”
Riley: “Yeah, sound like it! Speaking of Fall, will the zoo be transitioning to new hours soon?”
Kyle: “Yes, right at Labor Day, we make the shift back from 7:30pm, being open until 7:30pm at night back down to 6:30pm.”
“So, just a little less time to get in the zoo, but definitely some time after work to come down and see the animals with the family. Much later, we’ll transfer to our winter hours.”
Riley: “If people are interested in learning more about what’s happening at the zoo, where’s a good place to go for them to do that?”
Kyle: “A great place to go for that would probably be to follow us on Facebook. We make daily posts about what’s going on down here, and you know what what kind of new things we’re bringing to the community this year. So, that’d be a great place to follow and gain information.”
