The Wood County Sheriff’s Department will be Featured on A&E’s ‘Behind Bars: Officer Cam’

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department is pleased to announce that its corrections staff and operations will be featured in upcoming episodes of the hit A&E network docuseries, Behind Bars: Officer Cam airing on July 23rd. 2 episodes will be aired back-to-back starting at 7pm Central Standard Time.

The television series provides viewers with an unfiltered, first-person look into the daily challenges, intense situations, and vital work performed by corrections officers inside the Wood County Jail. Utilizing raw body camera footage, the show highlights the split-second decisions and de-escalation tactics required to maintain safety and security within the facility.

The Department is incredibly proud of their team and eager to show the public the high level of professionalism and dedication their corrections officers bring to work every single day. Oftentimes, the work done inside jail facilities is overlooked.

Partnering with A&E allows the Department to give the community a transparent, inside look at Wood County’s new modern facility and the vital public safety role the staff fulfills. Filming captured real-time interactions, day-to-day facility management, and how correction officers handle high-stakes incidents behind the scenes.

This partnership aligns with the department’s ongoing commitment to community transparency and excellence in law enforcement. They appreciate the producers and film crew selecting the Wood County Sheriff’s Department to take part in this production and series.

This is the first Sheriff’s Department in Wisconsin to be featured in this show.
