The Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department responded to a detached garage fire Sunday afternoon.
According to a report from the Department, the fire occurred around 6:57pm on Sunday, April 19th at 2701 S. Maple Avenue. Marshfield Fire and Rescue initially responded with seven personnel. On arrival to the address fire crews found the garage fully involved with heavy smoke and fire coming from the open garage door.
Fire crews used two handlines and an aggressive defensive attack to get the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. A total of 9 MFRD firefighters responded with assistance from the Marshfield Police Department and WE Energies.
MFRD fire suppression teams were on scene for approximately 45 minutes. The origin and cause of the fire are still under investigation. There were no injuries. There was significant damage to the detached garage. Ceiling roof trusses began to fail but did not collapse.
