The Safe Exchange Zone at the Wausau Police Department was moved to another area of the parking lot a bit ago.
It can now be found on the east side of the building at the north end of the public parking area. What is a “Safe Exchange Zone” you might ask? Two parking spaces are denoted as a Safe Exchange Zone.
There you’re welcome to trade legal items, including internet sales, or conduct child custody exchanges in a safe atmosphere promoted by a well-lit, police protected, and camera-monitored environment.
While law enforcement will not screen or oversee your transaction or child-exchange, we will respond if an emergency arises. Our Safe Exchange Zones are available 24 hours a day.
