Local FFA Chapters recently competed at the 2024 State Convention.
The Marshfield FFA Chapter was named the state winning Forestry Career Development Event Team. The Marshfield FFA Chapter was named the state winning Wildlife Career Development Event Team.
Jessica Lindow with the Marshfield FFA received a third in Agricultural Communications. Joshua Lindow of the Marshfield FFA received a fourth in Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Placement Proficiency.
Taylor Kundinger of the Marshfield FFA received a second in Beef Production – Entrepreneurship Proficiency. Jessica Lindow with the Marshfield FFA received a fifth in Small Animal Production. Faith Steinwagner of the Marshfield FFA received a second in Specialty Animal Production Proficiency.
The Colby FFA Chapter was named the state winning Dairy Cattle Evaluation & Management Career Development Event Team. Spencer received an award for having the largest membership numbers for Section 7 with 66 members. Sylvia Durrant of the Pittsville FFA received a second in Small Animal Production.
The Granton FFA received a second in parliamentary procedure. Jordan Berg of the Granton FFA received a third in the FFA Discussion Meet. Jordan Berg with the Granton FFA received a second in Agricultural Communications.
The Proficiency winner in Agricultural Education is Lizzy Reinart of the Granton FFA. Marshall Kleiman of the Granton FFA received a third in Dairy Production – Entrepreneurship.
Anna Kayhart of the Granton FFA received a third in Dairy Production – Placement Proficiency. Faustina Thomas of the Granton FFA received a third in Diversified Crop Production Proficiency.
Victoria Seif of the Granton FFA received a fifth in Diversified Horticulture. Abigail Schoessow of the Granton FFA received a third in Equine Science – Entrepreneurship Proficiency.
Caleb Schoessow of the Granton FFA received a first in Forest Management Proficiency. Abigail Woller of the Granton FFA received a first in fruit production.
Kadyn Marg of the Granton FFA received a third in fruit production. The winner of the Agricultural Services Proficiency Award is Isaac Jakobi of the Loyal FFA. AgCountry Farm Credit Services received a Distinguished Service Award.
Cheryl Steinbach was recognized as Wisconsin FFA VIP recipient. Mrs. Cheryl Steinbach has served as the Executive Director of the Wisconsin FFA Alumni and Supporters for the last 7 years.
In that time, she has led the alumni and supporters to new heights while also supporting all other aspects of Team Ag Ed. Mrs. Steinbach has supported the Wisconsin Association of FFA in countless ways-from judging a number of LDEs, reviewing state Officer candidates, reviewing State and American degrees, the list goes on and on.
Prior to her time with the Alumni and Supporters, Mrs. Steinbach was an agricultural educator at Granton High School where she retired after 28 years with the district and 30 years in total teaching agriculture.
The Granton FFA and FFA Alumni programs earned countless state and national awards under her guidance as FFA Advisors and received international media coverage when the school sent nearly every student to the National FFA Convention in 2011.
During her career, Mrs. Steinbach has taught and inspired thousands of students, including: 162 State FFA Degree recipients, 72 American FFA Degree recipients, 2 state FFA officers and countless proficiency awards, speaking contests, and career development event winners.
The impact Mrs. Steinbach has left on Wisconsin FFA is immeasurable. She has been an outstanding mentor, partner, supporter, and friend.
