(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Central Wisconsin man has been found not guilty of one felony count of exposing a child to harmful materials.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Keyiondra Smith-Chamness was cleared after a 1.5-day jury trial this week. Court records show both sides made their arguments on Tuesday afternoon.

Court recessed Tuesday evening, with closing arguments and deliberations taking place Wednesday morning. A verdict was delivered at around 11:30 AM. But the decision is not the end of the legal proceedings for the 21-year-old.

He will return to court on June 24th for a pretrial conference related to charges of impersonating a firefighter, bail jumping, and failing to notify a school of his status as a sex offender.

He’s accused of showing up randomly at the Village of Main fire department and attempting to help with at least two different calls. One involved a water rescue at a boat landing in the village.

In another incident, he snuck onto the truck as they were dispatched to a call. Others on the truck didn’t realize Smith-Chamness wasn’t a member of the team until after they were en route.

Officials with the Village of Main Fire Department say he had applied to join the department at least once but was denied based on his residency. Smith-Chamness is free on bond. If found guilty he faces up to nine months in jail and $10,000 in fines.
