WDLB was pleased to participate at the 2024 Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield. “Man on the Midway” Dale Ericksen kept listeners informed of the many exciting happenings at the fair; joined by Lynnette Johnson, the two met many attendees and WDLB listeners.
Highlights included an interview with Emily Skibba of Pleasure Valley Pig, Duck, and Goat Races who discussed the popular attraction and the ever-so-cute animals who are the stars of the show!
Other interviews included Vicki Palen of Sandhill Wildlife Area who spoke about the value of visiting this property owned and managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Katie (Sternweis) Wantoch, shared with Lynnette Johnson about her experience as the first “Fairest of the Fair” in 2001 and how her reign impacted her life and work.
Known as “The History Nut,” Marshfield historian Don Schnitzler spoke with WDLB about the much-visited area of photo displays in the Lang Information Center. Schnitzler indicated that residents and non-residents alike were thoroughly intrigued with this massive photo project encompassing Marshfield’s rich history.
Along with the Grandstand concerts, Family Entertainment Tent, rides, vendors, fabulous fair food, and of course, the animals, 2024’s Central Wisconsin State Fair is sure to be a treasured memory!
