Wayne A. Buellesbach

Wayne Allen Buellesbach, 55, Rice Lake, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was born to Jack and Diane (Herman) Buellesbach on August 17, 1968 in Madison, WI.

After graduating from West High in 1986, Wayne moved to London, England to pursue his love of music. When he returned home to Madison, he began playing local venues, including the UW Memorial Union, O’Cayz Corral, Tates Blues Jam and even was featured on radio station WORT with his version of the Big Band song “In the Mood” in his Rockabilly style.

Affectionately known as “Double Wayne” he fronted 3 bands: The Prestones, Big Indian, and Barbwire Fence. Wayne was well-known and loved by many in the Madison area. He loved Blues, Rockabilly,and Big Band Music. His musical influence and idols were the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Hendrix, Brian Setzer (Stray Cats) and B.B. King. He cherished his ’62 Gretsch and Stratocaster guitars. Music was his life.

Even though Wayne loved his music, his # 1 love was the Lord Jesus Christ! Reading his Bible daily and turning to God’s Word in good and bad times. He was a member of the Mad City Church (Madison) and most recently Red Cedar Church in Rice Lake, WI.

Wayne was well-loved because of his easy-going personality, his quirky humor and his willingness to help anyone in need. He was a loyal friend and treasured his family and friends. Some facts that you probably didn’t know about Wayne was that he really enjoyed grocery shopping, cooking, trying new foods and recipes and pontoon rides on Rice Lake. Being partial to old TV shows he especially enjoyed watching Speed Racer, Star Trek-The Next Generation and Northern Exposure. He also loved vintage cars and was pretty passionate about politics.

He is survived by his parents Jack and Diane (Herman) Buellesbach, his aunt Cheryl (Leroy) Kroening; his uncles Charles (Judy) Herman, and John (Helen) Herman and many cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents: Walter and Merva Buellesbach of Madison and Gerald and Irene Herman, Marshfield, WI.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at Rembs Celebration of Life in Marshfield on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A private burial will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.
