The Marshfield Police Department, in partnership with Marshfield Fire and Rescue, will conduct a joint training exercise at Washington Elementary School, 1112 W. 11th St., on Tuesday, August 11, and Wednesday, August 12, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
During the training, blank training rounds will be used and may sound similar to real gunfire. Residents may also notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and first responders in the area.
This is a scheduled, controlled training exercise. There is no danger to the public.
The exercise is designed to strengthen coordination between police, fire, and EMS during high-stress emergency situations, including active shooter incidents.
The City appreciates the community’s understanding while our public safety teams conduct this important training.
