Stella Catherine Marie (Hainzlsperger) Phillips, age 80, of Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, as the gates of Heaven opened and the angels accompanied her home to be with Our Heavenly Father.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 4 PM to 11 PM at the Marshfield Wildwood Park Pavilion. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Stella’s life.
Stella was born on June 22, 1946, in Marshfield to Ervin and Mary Hainzlsperger. She received her education in the Unity and Colby school districts.
Those who knew Stella could share countless stories of her generous heart and willingness to help others. She would do anything she could for anyone and was always among the first to volunteer whenever a helping hand was needed. Stella was an amazing cook, waitress, and gardener who brought joy to those around her. Her bright spirit and infectious smile were unforgettable, and her love for frogs could be seen just about everywhere imaginable. Stella had a special way of making others feel cared for, and her kindness and vibrant personality will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Stella is lovingly survived by her significant other and partner of 22 years, Jim Weigel of Marshfield; her daughter, Michelle “Shelly” Walley of Marshfield; her son, Jed (Tina) Phillips of Dorchester; her grandchildren, James Walley, Zach (Samantha) Walley, and Erin (Matt) Walley, all of Marshfield, Jake (Savannah) Phillips of Dorchester, and Chelsea (Kevin Klish) Phillips of Stevens Point; her great-grandson, Yakov Barbarich; her brother, Ervin “Butch” (Tonya) Hainzlsperger of Shell Lake; her sisters, Mary Jane (Billie) Selves of Neillsville, Suzanne (David) Roth of Tomahawk, and Ellen (John) Foley of Wisconsin Rapids; her sister-in-law, Janice Hainzlsperger of Spencer; her brother-in-law, Danny Weiler of Colby; her stepson, Dusty (Erica) Weigel of Loyal; and her stepdaughter, Sabrina (John) Petri of Marshfield. She is further survived by many other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Stella was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; her sisters, Theresa Hainzlsperger and Rebecca “Becky” Weiler; and her brother, Richard Hainzlsperger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stella’s family.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Marshfield Hospital who cared for Stella. Your kindness and compassion are deeply appreciated.
