On Thursday, August 27, 2026, at approximately 6:46 p.m., the Marshfield Police Department responded to the 2706 block of West Fifth Street for a reported domestic disturbance.
A 26–year–old Marshfield woman refused to exit the residence. Approximately 45 minutes after officers arrived, the Marshfield Special Response Team was activated after it was determined the woman was armed inside the residence.
Specialized police tactics were utilized, and a K–9 was deployed to assist in taking the suspect into custody. The woman was taken into custody approximately two hours later and transported to a local emergency department for medical clearance. She was subsequently transported to the Wood County Jail.
The Marshfield Police Department is requesting charges through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for false imprisonment, strangulation, disorderly conduct, and battery, all with domestic abuse enhancers. Additional charges related to failing to comply with officers‘ commands are also being requested.
The Marshfield Police Department thanks the Wood County Sheriff’s Department and Marshfield Fire and Rescue for their assistance during this incident. This was an isolated incident and there is no current danger to the community. No further information will be released at this time.
