Central Wisconsin State Fair Happening August 25th-30th

The Central Wisconsin State Fair takes place next week, August 25th-30th.

Daily gate passes are $10 for adults 13 and older, $5 for children 5-12, and children 4 and under are free. They have season gate passes for $37 for adults, $17 for children 5-12, and free for children 4 & under.

They do have some special admission days as well. Tuesday, August 25th is Junior Fair Day. Adults 13 and older are $5 and children 12 and under are free.

Tuesday is also Can-Do Fair Day. Bring 2 non-perishable, non-expired food items to the gate and receive free admission to the fair.

They also have a lunch special on Tuesday from 11:30am-1:30pm. You can get free gate admission for that special, but you need to enter and exit through gate D.

Wednesday is Senior Citizen Day, all seniors 62 and older can enter the fair for $5. Wednesday is also Veterans Appreciation Day. All active or retired military personnel can enter the fair at $5.

On Saturday, they have a BOGO special. Buy one adult pass and get the 2nd adult or child pass for free; otherwise, the general admission price is the same.

Season gate passes and grandstand tickets can be purchased in the fair office or on their website (https://www.centralwisconsinstatefair.com/). Daily gate passes can be purchased at the gate the day you arrive.

Mr. E’s Magical Midways will be running Wednesday the 26th through Sunday the 30th. The midway opens at 2pm on Wednesday with $2 Ferris wheel rides.

They have last blast wristband from 2pm-6pm for $25 and, from 6-10pm, all rides are $2. They open at 4pm on Thursday and have pay one price wristband for $30 from 4pm-9pm.

They open at 4pm on Friday and have pay one price wristband for $35 from 4pm-9pm. On Saturday they open at Noon and they have pay one price wristband from Noon-5pm for $35. Finally, they open at Noon on Sunday and they have pay one price wristband for $25 from Noon-5pm.

For grandstand entertainment, they have Casey Muessigman at 8pm on Tuesday the 25th. This is free with gate admission. On Wednesday, August 26th at 7:30pm they have Hairball. It’s $28 for the grandstand, $38 for trackside, and $48 for VIP.

On Thursday, August 27th, they have the band Home Free at 7:30pm. It’s $23 for the grandstand, $33 for trackside, and $43 for VIP.

They have Chris Young on Friday, August 28th at 7:30pm. It’s $50 for grandstand, $65 for trackside, and $95 for VIP. On Saturday, they have the band Blackberry Smoke at 7pm. It’s $40 for grandstand, $50 for trackside, and $70 for VIP.

Finally, on Sunday, August 30th at 3pm, they have the Challenge of Champions Bull Riding. Cost is $28 for adults 13 and up, $18 for children 5-12, and 4 and under are free.

Some family entertainment happening throughout the week of the fair includes the Wheels of Agriculture Game Show, The Trivia Tractor, Dominguez Attractions, and Pleasure Valley Pig and Duck Races.

On Tuesday, August 5th, from 2pm-5pm they have the Hand-Picked Bluegrass Band and, at 7pm, they have the Dress An Animal Contest.

The Hayes Boys Orchestra will be playing Wednesday, August 26th from 11:30am-2:30pm, The Memories at 3:15pm and 4:30pm, and Bad Habitz will play from 9:30pm-11:30pm.

Tom Burt will be performing on Thursday, August 27th, from 11:30am-2pm, Mike Nanstad from 2:30pm-5:30pm, the Hub City Jazz from 6pm-7:15pm, and Mia Brown & The Get Down will play from 9pm-Midnight.

The Until Dawn The Trio will perform on Friday August 28th from 1pm-3:30pm, the Main Street Conservatory of Dance will perform from 4pm-5pm, and The Back 40 Band from 9pm-Midnight.

On Saturday, the Pedal Tractor Races for ages 4-7 will take place at 1pm. Registration is from Noon until race time. Mia Brown & Jordan Miles perform from 1pm-3:30pm, the Curious Crow is from 4pm-6:30pm, and Star Six Nine from 9pm-Midnight.

Finally, the Kindschi Pedal Tractor Pull will be held Sunday, August 30th at 1pm for ages 4-12 with registration at Noon. And Red Higgins & the Freedom Train will perform from 1pm-3pm.

They have some fun events happening in the Lang Information Center. They have the USA History Trivia Contest happening from 11am-3pm daily, Wednesday through Sunday. All daily correct answers will get you entered into a $250 cash drawing.

On Tuesday, August 25th from 10am-6pm, they have the Ugly Weed Contest. On Wednesday, August 26th they have the Puzzle Power of the People challenge from 11am-4pm.

On Thursday, August 27th, the weed contest judging will take place at 11am. The Wisconsin Honey Queen will stop by on Thursday at 1pm. On Friday, August 28th, from 11am-2pm, they’ll Celebrate Cranberries.

On Saturday, August 29th from 11:30am-12:30pm there will be the Uncle Sam or Betsy Ross Look-A-Like Contest and It’s Oktoberfest in WOW from 2pm-4pm, for those 21 and older. On Sunday, August 30th, they have the Cheese Curd Competition from Noon until 2pm or until they run out.

On Friday, August 28th, they’ll have the Central Wisconsin State Fair Horse Pull at 6pm. On Saturday, August 29th they’ll have the Draft Horse Show with halter at 10am and hitching at 2pm. On Sunday, August 30th, they’ll have the Draft Horse Show with hitching at Noon.

They also have a long list of Junior Fair exhibits, projects, and events happening during the fair as well as the Open Class events. Again, check Central Wisconsin State Fair’s website (https://www.centralwisconsinstatefair.com/) for a schedule and times of those events.

The Market Animal Sale will take place at 6:30pm in the Jer Lang Show Palace. The Central Wisconsin State Fair Pie Auction is happening on Friday, August 28th at 5:30pm. On Sunday, they have the Cornerstone Community Church Service at 9:30am.
