Wisconsin Rapids Teen Killed in Two Vehicle Accident

On August 12, 2026, at approximately 10:13 PM, Wood County Communication Center received a call regarding a two vehicle accident on 80th Street South at the intersection of Townline Road, in the Town of Saratoga.

Initial investigation revealed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Townline Road failed to stop for a stop sign and struck a pickup truck hauling a horse trailer which was southbound on 80th Street South. The collision brought both vehicles to the southeast side of the intersection.

Emergency medical personnel rendered aid to both the driver of the car, 16-year-old Jacob Stoflet of Wisconsin Rapids, and driver, 17-year-old Brody Ortner of Pittsville, and passengers, 18-year-old Adelia Scapardine of Marshfield and 15-year-old Daisy Montag of Pittsville, of the pickup truck.

The three occupants from the pickup truck were transported to Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI. Stoflet had received fatal injuries from the accident and was pronounced deceased on August 13, 2026. This incident remains under further investigation with the help of the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Grand Rapids Police Department, Wood County Rescue, Grand Rapids First Responders, United Emergency Ambulance Service, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance, Grand Rapids Fire Department, Saratoga First Responders, Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Life Link Medical Flight and Nieman’s Towing and Recovery responded to the scene.
