The City of Marshfield reminds all motorists to use caution, slow down, and watch for increased pedestrian activity during the Marshfield Turkey Trot event. Participants, many of them families with children, will be walking and running along roadways, at intersections, and in parking areas.
To help keep everyone safe, drivers are asked to:
- Reduce speeds near the event route and adjacent residential streets
- Watch for pedestrians crossing unexpectedly, especially children
- Avoid distractions such as phones or GPS adjustments while driving in the area
- Follow any temporary traffic control, cones, barricades, and directions from event staff or police
- Allow extra time if traveling through or near the event zone
- Be patient and courteous, as large groups and families may be crossing in waves
Your cooperation helps ensure a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving tradition for the entire community. The trot starts at 8 a.m., and proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA.
