Congratulations to Lieutenant Shawn Meyer, Lieutenant Peter Fish and Detective Ross Austin on achieving their double stripes, for 10 years of law enforcement service with the Wausau Police Department.
The three of them were sworn in together back in 2015. A couple interesting facts; all 3 of them were initially hired with a different badge number that was later adjusted. Lieutenant Meyer is the only officer who has had a ‘0’ at the end of their badge number because the department hired 10 officers that year.
Lieutenant Meyer has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Community Resource Officer and now Lieutenant. He is a member of our Mobile Field Force, an Instructor and Drug Recognition Expert.
Lieutenant Fish has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Community Resource Officer and now Lieutenant. He is a member of the Marathon County SWAT team and an Instructor.
Detective Ross Austin has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and as one of our Downtown Officers. He was recently promoted to Detective and is assigned to the River Valley Regional Forensic Lab. He also serves as an Instructor and leader with our Crash Reconstruction Team.
