Registration is open for two summer theatre camps at UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield, offering youth the chance to build confidence, creativity, and performance skills on stage or behind the scenes.
The 19th annual Summer Theatre Camp for ages 11–18 will run weekday evenings July 6–August 15, with performances August 13–15. This year’s production is planned as Disney’s Descendants: The Musical (pending rights), a high-energy show that follows the teenage children of Disney’s most infamous villains.
With a wide range of lead and featured roles, the production offers participants plenty of opportunities to shine on stage. Cost is $179 and includes a T-shirt. New this year is the Just for Kids Theatre Camp, designed specifically for ages 8–12.
This one-week camp will be held June 22–26 from 1–4 p.m. and will introduce younger performers to the world of theatre through acting, movement, and backstage skills. Participants will present an original version of Peter Pan for family and friends at the end of the week.
The cost is $79, which includes admission to the performance and one complimentary ticket to Disney’s Descendants: The Musical (pending rights) (August 13–15). Scholarships are available for both camps. To learn more or register, visit: uwsp.edu/conted.
