This Week is National FFA Week.

Our own Dale Erickson had the opportunity to speak with FFA students and advisors from our area school districts including the Loyal FFA.

National FFA Week runs through February 28th.

Dale: “We are traveling around the area finding out what area FFA chapters are doing to celebrate FFA week. Joining me is Jackson Roehl from the Loyal FFA.”

Jackson: “Part of the National FFA week, we have, usually, we do a bunch of stuff for our chapter. We are doing a teacher appreciation. We’re also having ice cream Sundays out for our members and we also are having an Emblem Day Friday, February 20. We’re doing a CTSO day with FBLA, FCCLA and FFA.”

“We’re having a game during our last two hours of the day. We’ll see how that goes. FFA has done a lot for us, and especially me. Personally, FFA has brought me many opportunities and skills. I’ve been able, from seventh grade, I was a shy little seventh grader, not knowing what I was supposed to do.”

“Then I joined FFA and became more outgoing. I got to talk to new people. Understood what FFA really means for people. It’s also brought me some new skills by being able to talk in front of crowds, just being able to belong to something that actually understands what you’re trying to go for.”

“FFA has also done so much more. It’s just not for farm kids. It’s also for city kids, anyone from any background.”
