Car vs. Motorcycle Crash in Wood County

On Friday, August 15, 2025, at approximately 5:37p.m. the Wood County Dispatch Center received a report of a motorcycle vs car crash on County Road JJ near the intersection of Grundwald Ln, in the Town of Port Edwards.

The driver of the car, 47-year-old Casey Blossfield of Nekoosa, received medical attention on scene and was released. The operator of the motorcycle, 26-year-old Jacob Meyer of Friendship, was transported to Marshfield Medical center by Life Link III, due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Initial investigation indicated the motorcycle was traveling southbound when it crossed the centerline of the roadway after negotiating a curve. The motorcycle then struck an oncoming vehicle in the northbound lane of traffic. The crash investigation is still ongoing at this time and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. 

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Wood County Dispatch Center, Wood County Rescue, Port Edwards Police Department, Nekoosa Police Department, Port Edwards Fire Department, Nekoosa Fire Department, Town of Port Edwards First Responders, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol, Life Link III, Niemans Towing.
