Iowa-Based Company Purchases Weather Shield in Medford

(Caitlin Shuda, USA TODAY NETWORK – Wisconsin) An Iowa-based company announced July 31 it purchased a Medford, Wisconsin, business.

According to Caitlin Shuda with USA TODAY NETWORK – Wisconsin, Pella Corporation, a manufacturer of residential and commercial windows and doors announced it acquired Weather Shield, a manufacturer of architectural wood and aluminum window and door solutions, combining two industry leaders with shared commitments to innovation, craftsmanship and customer experience, according to a release from Pella Corporation.

Pella Corporation, based in Pella, Iowa, was founded in 1925 and employs 11,000 workers across 21 manufacturing sites and 250 showrooms around the country. Weather Shield, based in Medford, Wisconsin, was founded in 1955 and creates high-end windows and doors for architects, homebuilders and homeowners.

Bob Foote, Weather Shield’s president, said his team is thrilled to join the Pella family. “This partnership represents a powerful strategic and cultural alignment that will allow our people and our business to thrive,” Foote said. “Pella Corporation’s century-long legacy of market leadership, operational excellence, and customer-first mindset makes them the ideal partner for our next chapter.”
