Last week, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office had the privilege of welcoming their newest deputy, Jacob Mertzig to the office.
Deputy Mertzig comes to the Department with a background in law enforcement; having worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office and the Neillsville Police Department.
Deputy Mertzig also worked for a short time in the insurance industry. While in his roles at the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Mertzig was a firearms instructor, field training officer, certified evidence technician and was part of their mobile field force team.
Jacob brings with him a wealth of experience that will undoubtedly help him serve the citizens of Marathon County.
