
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit recently spent three days at Jessiffany Canine Services, LLC for the annual re-certification seminar.
The department’s K9’s and their handlers worked hard in events to include area searches, odor detection, handler protection/bite work, obedience and an obstacle course. Over 50 K9’s competed in these events. Lieutenant Brandon Christianson with K9 Bingo brought home a few new pieces of hardware.
- 2nd Place – Hard Dog/Fast Dog
- 2nd Place – Explosive Open Area Detection
- 3rd Place – Explosive Vehicle Detection
Bingo was the only explosive detection K9 and awards were made stating narcotics. In the odor detection events, narcotics odors were switched out with explosive odors for Bingo.
