(Mike Leischner, WSAU) The City of Wausau has hired a new Human Resources manager.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Lisa Nowak joins the staff this week. She previously served as the head of Human Resources for Foundation Financial Company, where she managed employees in multiple states.
Under her leadership, the company maintained its “great place to work” designation. Nowak holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Development and a Master’s Certificate in Human Resource Business Partnership from Villanova University and holds multiple other HR certifications.
In a press release, Mayor Doug Diny said the hire “reflects the City of Wausau’s commitment to fostering a strong, supportive, and forward-thinking workplace culture. She looks forward to advancing key HR initiatives and working closely with city leadership to support and empower Wausau’s dedicated municipal workforce.”
Nowak replaces James Henderson, who resigned on January 10th. Henderson was in the role for two years, helping the city negotiate three union contracts and bringing on a new health insurance provider for 2025, leading to significant cost savings compared to the previous provider.
