By Riley Hebert Mar 17, 2025 | 9:01 AM

The Marshfield Police Department is now accepting applications for its Citizens Police Academy program.

Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., beginning April 2, 2025, and lasting eight (8) consecutive weeks until May 21, 2025. The goals of the Citizens Police Academy:

  • Provide citizens with a working knowledge of law enforcement operations, including support staff.
  • To strengthen law enforcement/community relations.
  • To obtain valued feedback from the community through citizen participation.
  • To increase citizen knowledge about police functions and enhance employee instructor training

The above objectives are met through hands-on interactive experiences in areas such as crime scene investigations, SWAT tactics, the utilization of police department firearms at the police range, use-of-force decision-making, and observing firsthand how the K-9 unit performs its duties.

Completed applications and waivers are due by March 26th, 2025.  Please download the documents below and return them to the police department by mail, drop them off, or email them to cindy.gaetz@ci.marshfield.wi.us
