Congratulations to Wausau Officer Shawn Fritsch on achieving his 4-stripe milestone, signifying 20-years of law enforcement service with the Wausau Police Department.
Officer Fritsch has served in various roles within our department to include as a Field Training Officer, Investigator with the Special Investigations Unit and most recently a member of our K-9 Unit. He served several years with his first partner, K-9 Zanto, and is now partnered with K-9 Lokey.
Background of Service Stripes: For every 5 years of law enforcement service, we present our staff with a gold service stripe to be worn on their long-sleeve uniform. Service stripes are small, but each stripe is significant and symbolizes a tremendous amount of positive impacts each officer has made in our community.
