(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man is facing a battery of child porn and THC-related charges after he was arrested earlier this month.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, James West is being held on a $10,000 cash bond as he faces ten counts of possession of child pornography along with a felony count of possession of THC. Investigators were led to West through a cyber tip regarding images on his phone.
A search yielded more than 140 photos, including some of children being sexually assaulted. That led officers to secure a search warrant for his home. When they confronted him, they also found a large amount of marijuana.
He appeared in court last week and remains jailed. Conditions of his bond include no contact with minors and absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol. The 43-year-old returns to court on Friday for a review hearing. A pretrial conference is scheduled for April 4th.
