Robert C. Johnson, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1953, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin the son of Arthur and Charlotte (Lattin) Johnson.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday October 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Ryders Roadhouse 9031 County Road WW Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at Ryders. There will be a celebration of life following the services.
Bob graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1972. He married Juli Hess on October 22, 2005. Bob had a passion for music and spent countless hours playing his guitars, sharing his love for tunes with friends and family. Many years of memories were made while in the band Backstreet, playing countless gigs all over the state. He also enjoyed the thrill of riding his Harley or driving his Jeep with the top down, often hitting the open road with a smile on his face with his Bunny, Juli. They were inseparable. He lived for hanging out with his kids and grandkids, where love and laughter flowed abundantly. He leaves behind a legacy of joy and creativity, a love of life and fun. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Juli; his daughter, Becky (Nate) Haupt; his son, Matt (Candice) Fairfield; his brother, Brian (Beth) Smith; his grandchildren, Broden, Gracie, Lily and Sarah; he is further survived by his mother in law, Marge Hess; brother in law, Rob (Jodi) Hess; sister in law, Sheri Johnson and Nancy Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Charlotte; his sister, Cheryl; his brothers, Richard and Randy Johnson and John Smith and by his book club buddy Stan.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the UW Cancer Center for all of their help over the years. The compassion of all the nurses and office staff was truly amazing. Having Dr. Kirschling and Dr. Asquith in charge of Bob’s care gave us precious extra years.
