Cheryl Helminiak obituary, Wisconsin Rapids, WI

Cheryl A. (DeWitt) Helminiak, 67, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at The River Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Kevin Bishop will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of service at the church.
Cheryl was born on February 1, 1957 in Stevens Point to Cecil and Roberta (Emery) DeWitt. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975. Cheryl worked at Sentry Insurance in computer programming for 35 years until her retirement. She soon became bored with retirement and spent the next couple of years working for Attorney Richard Bender, which she thoroughly enjoyed until her time of death.
Cheryl enjoyed playing the piano, cross-stitching, watching reality TV, sewing, and all things crafty. She was devoted to her church and spent many hours serving and giving of her time and talents from decorating the church for the seasons to running the media ministry and participating in women’s ministries. Cheryl was the picture of strength, love and faith to her family and friends. She gave without hesitation and had the heart of a true servant. She was the cornerstone of her family and cherished her time with them, taking trips to the apple orchard, decorating for Christmas, baking with her grandkids, and chatting over family dinners. The loss of her presence will be felt forever.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Paul, their beloved dog Bella, her daughter, Kompten DeWitt, grandchildren: Chyler, Brinley and Brayden DeWItt, Sister, Ronda (Jim) Alft, Nephews: Phillip, Jordyn and Landen Alft, Brother-in-law, Mark (Elaine) Helminiak and Sister-in-law, Camille Hammer. She leaves behind many special family and close friends that she loved like family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Marion Helminiak, and many beloved family and friends.
As some may know, Cheryl’s favorite color was purple. Her family would like to invite anyone in attendance to wear purple in her honor.
