Keith Philip Styka, age 93, of Nekoosa, WI entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, surrounded by his beloved wife and son. A Christian service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards, WI. Visitation will be at 10:00 am with the service to follow at 11:00 am.
Keith graduated from John Edwards High School in 1949.
He married Beverly Schoenberger on September 29, 1951. They built a wonderful life throughout their 75 years together. Keith & Bev were not just husband and wife, but best friends and soul mates. Their love and commitment saw them through the joys and sorrows in life.
During the course of his life, Keith had a strong faith and was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church serving as an elder, an usher, and committee member.
Keith was not only a faith-filled family man, but a hard worker, taking pride in whatever he did. For forty years he worked at the Port Edwards Paper Mill. During those years, he also honed his handyman craft, as the owner of Styka Builders, building homes in Port Edwards, Nekoosa, Mauston, and on Lake Sherwood in the town of Rome.
When Keith wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Whether camping or golfing, boating or bowling, working in the yard or in his shed, Keith lived life to the fullest. His family will carry on the traditions he instilled in them- faith and family first, church on Sunday, oyster stew on Christmas Eve, kielbasa and pierogies on Easter, work hard, and continue to play Screwy Louie.
Keith’s faith, family, home, and friends were most important in his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Keith is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Todd (Vicki, Manitowoc), Diane (widow of Michael, Port Edwards), grandchildren, Matthew Styka, Scott Styka, Jeff Styka, (Anne), Jared Styka (Melanie), Jenessa Gast, (Zak Gast); great grandchildren, Gavin Styka, Graham Styka, and baby Gast due in January; nephews, Glenn Saeger, Chad Dove; and niece, Kathy Kies.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luella and Philip Styka; sister, Lucille Dove; brother-in-law, Charles Dove; and son, Michael Styka.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Keith’s memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, 990 3rd Street, Port Edwards, WI 54469 OR to Alex C. Dove Foundation, 928 Sussex Court, Nekoosa, WI 54457
