Age 73, with family at his bedside surrounding him with love and tears passed away peacefully at his home in Spencer on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Family and friends are invited for a gathering to remember and celebrate Bob’s life on Tuesday July 2, 2024, at Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer beginning at 4PM until a service begins at 5PM led by a close family friend, Donnie Hoffman. Following the service, full military honors will be presented for Bob’s service to our country by members of Spencer American Legion Post 298.

Bob was born June 6, 1951, in Sheldon, Iowa to his parents: Anton and Helen Jurrens. After graduation from Magnolia School System in Magnolia, MN, he continued his education for two additional years at Jackson Vocational School. He proudly served this country in the United States Army at the rank of Buck Sergeant in the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1981. Bob was always humble and quiet, never speaking about his time in service. He was united in marriage to Terry Hoffman on February 21, 1981, in Worthington, MN. She survives. For 24 years Bob was employed at the former Marshfield Electric Motors located on South Central Ave in Marshfield. He possessed unlimited knowledge in electric motor operation, fixing motors or rebuilding them. He retired from there in 2006. He later began working at Wausau Window and Wall Systems in Stratford until his second retirement in 2014.

He loved watching and attending his kids’ sports games. His family recalls how Bob played football in the winter with his kids and their friends in the front yard aka: “The Frozen Tundra” up until the kids got bigger than Bob. After that it became flag football! He enjoyed being with family and playing with his grandkids. Bob hunted some whitetail deer but probably really enjoyed his Minnesota and South Dakota pheasant hunts the most.

Bob was a past member of the Marshfield Eagles Club.

Those who will cherish his memory include: his loving wife Terry of Spencer, his son Ryan (Jody) Frodermann of Marshfield; his grandchildren: James (close friend Gloria Mireles) Frodermann and Madisyn Frodermann; two sisters: Judy (Robert) Welch of Minneapolis, MN and Glenda Lancaster of Rushmore, MN. Bob is further survived by his mother-in-law Inez Hoffman; his brother-in-law Lee Hoffman; sisters and brothers-in-law: Marilyn (Alan) Forbragd of Clark, SD, Vickie (Wayne) Helland of Yankton, SD and Joy (Tom) Garrison of Sioux Falls, SD along with nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son James, a brother-in-law Jerry Lancaster, his father-in-law Frances Hoffman, two nieces: Pam Simpson and Jennifer Hauptman and a nephew Adam Hoffman.

The family wishes to thank Compassus Hospice Services for all their help with Robert as he took his final journey in life. He enjoyed meeting all the members of the hospice unit.
