Thursday, March 7th was filled with heartwarming surprises as Wisconsin Army National Guard Captain Jake Howey of Marshfield made an early return from his nearly year-long deployment overseas and surprised his family.
His wife, Kristina Howey, product development and implementation director at Security Health Plan, was expecting her husband to return around March 31, and knew he might return earlier, perhaps by mid-March. Little did she know, Captain Howey was already back in the United States as of Tuesday, March 5th.
Captain Howey had contacted Kristina’s boss, Chief Growth Officer Jenny Shermo, for help secretly orchestrating a homecoming when he knew he would be returning earlier than expected. With the help of co-workers, the beautiful surprise reunion swiftly came together.
It was just the beginning of an emotional day for the Marshfield family. Following the reunion at Security Health Plan, Captain Howey had another surprise reunion at school with the couple’s children.
Welcome home, Captain Howey! Your service and sacrifice are deeply appreciated, and your reunion moments have undoubtedly touched many hearts.
