Erna Kuehn, 94, of Neillsville, WI died on Friday, October 23, 2026 at the Marshfield Medical center in Marshfield.
Erna Steger was born on April 29, 1932 in Heildelberg, Germany the daughter of Sylvester and Maria (Strobl) Steger. After graduating High School she worked in a pharmaceutical lab for 3 years and then took nurses aid training. On March 3, 1956 she married American soldier, Roger Kuehn. In 1957 they moved to Milwaukee, WI and eventually to Granton, WI. She continued her Nurses Aid career working at nursing homes. In 1964 she and her daughter, Hannelore, returned to Germany to take care of her ailing father. They returned to Granton in 1981. Erna retired in 1987. Erna was a member at Zion Lutheran Church and cherished the friendships made there.
Erna loved her husband and daughter dearly and missed them immensely after their deaths.
A graveside service officiated by Pastor Schoessow will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2026 at Windfall Cemetery in Granton, WI. Fellowship to follow at Zion Lutheran Church on Granton Rd.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Sharon Kuehn of Granton and several nieces and nephews along with many special friends.
Erna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger, daughter Hannelore and a sister-in-law, Darlene Harris.
The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Erna’s family with funeral arrangements.
